Somewhere in eastern Europe, Lara was wandering alone over a lonely landscape. She was searching for the entrance to a series of caverns and old buildings which she believed housed an ancient text, "The Lethe Scroll". As the wind picked up, she recalled her conversations with the people in the town nearbye. Not many of the locals had any knowledge of the caverns, and those who did; didn't like to speak of it. It was an evil place some had said, haunted and full of the undead. Lara was stongly advised against seeking the place. Raining now, Lara was wet and cold. She was just about to give up hope of ever finding the entrance, when suddenly the ground opened up beneath her feet. She was swallowed into the gloom of the Caverns of the Dead...
